Senior Consultant Cardiologist, Heart Specialist International Singapore

Dr Ong graduated with honors from the University of Cambridge and pursued his cardiology specialist training in London’s prestigious “golden circuit” of heart centers. In 2006, he was appointed as a Cardiology Consultant and Cath Lab Director at both the Lister Hospital and the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust under the UK National Health Service (NHS).

After spending 23 years in England, Dr Ong relocated to Singapore in 2009, where he served as the Head of Interventional Cardiology Service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) for over a decade. Under his leadership, the department evolved into one of Southeast Asia’s leading interventional cardiology centers.

Dr Ong is internationally recognized for his expertise in Primary Angioplasty and complex high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). He is the Founding Course Director of both the Asia Primary Angioplasty Congress (APAC) and the Asia Physiology and Coronary Imaging (APACi) course.

Notably, Dr Ong is one of the few interventional cardiologists in Singapore to initiate his own multi-center clinical trials, enrolling hundreds of heart attack patients across Asia. He has served as Principal Investigator in over 20 large-scale randomized clinical trials and has authored more than 70 high-impact scientific publications in international medical journals.

Dr Ho Hee Hwa is currently a Senior Consultant and Head of the Interventional Cardiology Service in the Department of Cardiology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He subspecializes in interventional cardiology and has a broad clinical interest in the management of acute coronary syndrome, primary percutaneous coronary intervention, and general cardiology.

Dr Ho graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Hong Kong in 1997. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), United Kingdom in 2000, and completed his core cardiology training at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong in 2004. In 2006, he undertook an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill-Cornell Medical Center, USA.

An active educator, Dr Ho serves as a core clinical faculty member of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Cardiology Senior Residency Program, where he mentors and trains senior residents. From 2012 to 2019, he held the position of Head of Cardiology Clinical Research at TTSH, leading the department in numerous clinical studies and trials.

Dr Ho has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and is a regular peer reviewer for several esteemed medical publications.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) is the second-largest acute care general hospital in Singapore and is the flagship hospital of the National Healthcare Group.
