Doing our best to treat AMI
18th & 19th November 2017
Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers
WELCOME TO ASIA PRIMARY ANGIOPLASTY CONGRESS 2017!
APAC 2017 is our 4th initiative to propagate primary PCI in Asia. Case-sharing with short lectures remain the backbone of our meeting and allow great intellectual discussion. Each year, we have seen over 300 participants from more than 20 countries gather to make it a lively and fruitful meeting.
This year, for the first time, we are taking APAC beyond Singapore. We will partner with HKSTENT and Hong Kong College of Cardiology (HKCC) to build a sustainable primary PCI network and system in Hong Kong and work together to advance the best outcomes for STEMI patients in Asia.
We look forward to seeing you in Hong Kong!
About

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) is the second largest acute care general hospital in Singapore, with specialty centres in Rehabilitation Medicine and Communicable Diseases.
Established in 1844, the hospital is named after its founder, Mr Tan Tock Seng, a Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist.TTSH is a member of the National Healthcare Group and continues to provide high quality holistic healthcare services to the people of Singapore. After three major moves in its long and distinguished history, the 1,200-bed hospital now provides most of its services in one modern complex equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and medical equipment, as well as the latest communication and information technology tools.
TTSH attained the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation by the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organisations (JCAHO), USA, in August 2005, an award that represents a worldwide consensus on quality patient care.

The Aesculap Academy is one of the leading medical education forums for everyone who is professionally, passionately, and ambitiously committed to people’s health. To those medical professionals, we offer top quality knowledge transfer based on globally recognized quality criteria using innovative methods and technologies. We share our pursuit of excellence in healthcare with our course participants and partners. We offer to teach for anyone who strives to protect life and health as well as they possibly can.
Since it was founded in 1995 the Aesculap Academy has developed into a globally recognized training institution. The network of knowledge covers meanwhile Europe, Africa, The Americas and the Asia Pacific.
Training courses are offered in more than 40 countries under the name and quality seal of the Aesculap Academy.

Being an important cardiology institution recognized internationally, HKCC has close collaboration with other international professional organizations, HKCC is National Member of World Heart Federation (WHF), Affiliated Cardiac Society of European Society of Cardiology (ESC), International Society of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), Member Society of Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC), Hong Kong Chapter of American College of Cardiology (ACC) and has organized joint scientific sessions with above mentioned organizations. HKCC also has close relationship with mainland counterparts by being co-organizer in CardioRhythm, South China International Congress of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Interventional Summit. At the same time, HKCC also continue mutually beneficial interactions with professional communities around the world.

HKSTENT is the first and only formal Interventional Cardiology Society registered as a charitable organization in Hong Kong.
It was founded with the aim of promoting education, research, and advancement of Interventional Cardiology in Hong Kong and Asia for the benefit of interventionists, cardiologists, allied health workers, and the general public at large.

The Singapore Cardiac Society was started in 1958 by a group of specialists with special interest in Cardiology working at Outram Road General Hospital. Pioneering physicians like Professors Dhanaraj, E.S. Monterio, Ernest Steven, Sir Gordon Arthur Ransome, Wong Hee Ong, Yong Nen Kiong and Charles Toh started regular clinical sessions to manage patients with cardiac diseases. The membership subsequently expanded rapidly with the addition of Drs MB Ghosh, Loh Tee Fun; and Teo Hoon Chow who had interest in the field of Paediatric Cardiology. Drs Yong Nen Kiong and Tan Ngoh Chuan joined the group in 1960 and added Cardiothoracic surgery to the group.
The Singapore Cardiac Society has made great strides in developing the practice of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Singapore. With more Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Researchers from both private and institutional practice joining the Society every year, the Society looks forward to realizing the dreams of its founders in maintaining a high level of cardiac care for Singaporeans.

The Department of Cardiology is made up of 15 full time consultants and provides a comprehensive range of cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic services. Acute cardiac care is one of its core strengths and primary PCI is the preferred method of reperfusion for STEMI. On average more than one case of primary PCI is performed everyday.
The TTSH Invasive Cardiac Laboratory is housed in a new state-of-the-art facility with 3 angiographic suites dedicated to interventional cardiology. The facility was designed by harnessing 3P (Production-Preparation-Process) and Kaizen principles to ensure a faster, safer and more efficacious management of acute STEMI. Around 3000 diagnostic procedures and 1,600 PCIs are performed annually. Transradial route is the preferred arterial access accounting for close to 90% of all PCI cases.
We hope this meeting with specific focus on primary PCI will provide an interactive and networking platform for interventional cardiologists within Asia to share their local experience and learn from one another.
